The story behind the cards

The Wedding Token started with a group of friends playing Magic: The Gathering after school. I was first introduced to the game back in 6th grade, spending afternoons, learning the rules, and just enjoying time together at the lunch tables. Like a lot of things, life eventually pulled us in different directions. We all went off to different universities, and the cards slowly got put away or sold at garage sales.

Years later, we found our way back. We reconnected, started meeting up again, and built a small group that would play at local card shops — just like old times. It reminded me why I loved the game in the first place: not just for the strategy, but for the connection it creates. Ironically, my friends were always strongly against proxy cards because they felt it took away from the integrity of the game — but there was one exception: tokens.

When I built my first real Commander deck, Kibo, Uktabi Prince, I ran into a problem. The deck creates banana tokens, and for whatever reason, they never had an official printing. So I decided to make my own. That moment changed everything.

I discovered the world of custom cards and quickly became obsessed with the idea of creating something personal — something that didn't just exist in the game, but meant something to the person holding it. What started as a solution for my own deck turned into a passion for creating high-quality, custom, and affordable cards for others. Whether it's an anniversary gift, a funny inside joke with friends, custom groomsmen gifts, unique art for your favorite cards, or even a completely original idea brought to life, my goal is always the same: to create a card that feels like it belongs to you.

Over the past year, I've refined every part of the process — from design to printing to finishing — constantly improving to deliver the best quality possible. What began as a small idea quickly grew into one of the top-performing custom card shops on Etsy.

The Wedding Token isn't just about cards — it's about memories, creativity, and turning something personal into something you can hold onto forever.

How weddings changed everything

Over time, I started to notice a pattern. More and more of my custom orders were for couples — engagement announcements, wedding favors, anniversary gifts. People were turning their love stories into collectible cards, and the response from their friends and family was always the same: "Where did you get these?"

Wedding favors are a massive industry, and most of what's out there is forgettable — candles, candy, bottle openers that end up in a junk drawer. But a custom trading card featuring the couple? That's something guests actually keep. They show their friends. They put it on their fridge. They ask for extras.

I was doing so many wedding and relationship-themed custom orders that I decided to go all in. The Wedding Token was born — a dedicated brand focused entirely on creating the most unforgettable wedding keepsake in the game.

Today, every card I create is designed for love. Whether it's your wedding day, your anniversary, or a surprise proposal — I turn your story into a card that's truly one of a kind. Because your love story deserves to be legendary.
